Director, Core & Cloud Infrastructure

The Director, Core & Cloud Infrastructure will lead the strategy, modernization, and day-to-day health of Alkermes’ core infrastructure and cloud operations model. This is a senior leadership role with real ownership over the platforms, partners, roadmaps, and operating model that help keep the business running securely, reliably, and at scale. The role is responsible for the infrastructure services that support Alkermes across five facilities, including three in the United States and two in Ireland. The position is based in Waltham, MA, and follows a hybrid schedule, with three days per week in the office. The Director will manage a team of four direct reports and lead a managed service provider model of approximately 50 onshore and offshore team members. This person will work closely with Emerging Technologies & Engineering, Information Security, Infrastructure Applications, business teams, and strategic service providers. Strong background leading infrastructure engineering, solution delivery, cloud operations, and technology operations teams. Broad technical depth across compute, virtualization, Windows and Linux platforms, networking, storage, backup and recovery, monitoring, patch management, automation, and cloud operations. Experience building infrastructure roadmaps and leading large platform modernization, lifecycle, resiliency, and service improvement efforts. Experience managing strategic vendors, cloud providers, managed service providers, and complex global technology environments. Strong financial, vendor governance, risk management, and operational leadership skills. Proven ability to lead change, develop technical talent, influence across teams, and communicate well with senior leaders and business stakeholders. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent education and experience. Preferred Experience Experience in Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Healthcare, Manufacturing, or another regulated industry. Working knowledge of GxP, FDA, SOX, HIPAA, GDPR, and related security, quality, and compliance expectations. Experience supporting business continuity, disaster recovery, audit readiness, or infrastructure services in a regulated global environment. The annual base salary for this position ranges from $196,000 to $218,000. In addition, this position is eligible for an annual performance pay bonus.
