Criminal Defense Attorney

We are looking to add another full service criminal defense attorney. You will handle cases from beginning to end (i.e., from the preliminaries through trial and any appeals).

We focus on cases in South Central PA. For 2025 reported cases in the online docket sheet system, we were the volume leader in our local service area, which includes Adams, Cumberland, Franklin, and York County.

We are busy. We are expanding more and more into other counties. We want to improve response time. We need more people. We also have a gap. We are looking for someone who can serve clients who can afford a lawyer but not those we currently have.

Until you ramp up, you will help in other ways, including appearing for other attorneys when they can't be two places at once. You will be given credit toward alternative compensation for that kind of work.

*Qualifications*
You should have at least 3-5 years of experience representing criminal defendants or the Commonwealth. You should have at least 1-2 years of experience of quoting and converting leads. Ideally, you are a top ten attorney for the county of your principal practice by volume.

If you are eligible to apply for board certification by the NBTA, that is a plus. We already have two Board Certified Criminal Trial Advocates, the only firm in the state that can say that.

*Compensation:*
We offer a base compensation and benefits package of 110% of the last calendar year as long as it is not an anomaly or the average of your current package over the last three years or the last calendar year, whichever is higher. The numbers must be verifiable.

$100,000 is the presumptive minimum package. It assumes gross revenues of not less than $300,000 per year over the same time horizon. If you are coming from a government position, you must have a persuasive argument that $300K is achievable growth. We want to improve and not hurt the bottom line of any other lawyer in the firm.

You will also be paid alternative compensation, if more than the base. It is equal to 25%-30% of gross revenues, for each case you complete work on (sales, labor & management). A partial incentive is available for partial work on a case.

An of-counsel position may also be available with up to a 50/50 split for someone who has or develops a new territory in South Central PA and requires minimal marketing and administrative support from the firm.

Other proposals are welcome, if supported by data and analysis.

We are always reinventing ourselves and our business model. We aim to have the most competitive pay packages available, as measured by the opportunity for growth and by bottom-line compensation for your work compared to what other firms are willing to pay.

*Benefits:*

Benefits (e.g., health, vision, dental, PTO, Simple IRA) are available but taken into account in determining the value of the minimum compensation package.

*Support:*
Administrative, marketing, technology, and other support provided. The extent of support is connected to your gross revenues. Over the last 3 years advertising (of the firm and each attorney) and other marketing support has equaled more than 10% of gross revenues for the firm. You will also receive administrative support equal to 8-12% of gross revenues as long as your gross is at least $300,000.
