About the Position

Registered Nurse - L&D

Location: Bellefontaine, Ohio

Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: 36 hours guaranteed per week, possible weekends, no call

Hours per Week: 60

Requirements

Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive head-to-toe assessments and reassessments to ensure exceptional patient care
• Develop and revise individualized care plans daily based on patient response and clinical needs
• Administer medications safely following the five medication rights and educate patients and families on pain management techniques
• Create and implement teaching plans tailored to each patient's learning needs and evaluate effectiveness
• Coordinate interdisciplinary care by consulting other departments and maintaining clear communication with physicians and the care team
• Maintain accurate documentation that meets current standards and policies
• Manage equipment safely and correctly while supervising patient care as needed
• Foster a safe, respectful environment that addresses the psychosocial, cultural, and spiritual needs of patients and families

Qualifications

• Active Ohio nursing license required
• 1 year of Labor & Delivery experience required
• Postpartum and nursery experience required
• Current ACLS, BLS, and NRP certifications (AHA) required
• BSN degree preferred

Education

• BSN degree preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong patient assessment and care planning abilities
• Skilled in medication administration and patient education
• Ability to provide age-appropriate care across the lifespan
• Excellent communication and documentation skills
• Flexibility to adapt in stressful situations while maintaining organization
