Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Days | 3x12 or 4x12 Hours (7:00–19:30) | Onsite | Every other weekend, floating, and holidays required within contract period

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in an intensive care unit setting with typical patient ratios of 1:2–3
• Perform ventilator management, IV drip titration, and continuous telemetry monitoring
• Recognize and manage dysrhythmias and provide emergency response and critical care interventions
• Administer and monitor conscious sedation as required
• Apply strong neuro critical care skills including NIH Stroke Scale assessment
• Float as needed to Stepdown, Emergency Department, or Medical-Surgical units to care for ICU-level patients

Required Qualifications

• Active Virginia or Compact RN license in hand at time of submission — no exceptions
• Proficiency in Epic EMR — no exceptions
• BLS certification from American Heart Association only
• ACLS certification from American Heart Association only
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
• Must pass an EKG/telemetry competency test with a score of 80% or higher prior to start (one attempt, no remediation)

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Minimum three years of critical care experience strongly preferred; strong candidates with less experience may be considered
• Previous travel nursing experience preferred
• Strong neuro critical care background
