The Azure Architect role is a strategic position that will partner with key stakeholders in the organization to create a leading edge, well-defined cloud foundation for solutions that are aligned with the firm's cloud strategy. This role will be focusing on architecting the foundational components to support key initiatives in Microsoft Azure.

Major Duties & Responsibilities:

• Establish core enterprise architecture patterns and decisions to define the base environment to be followed for initial and ongoing initiatives.
• Ensure that cloud foundation and planned solutions follow security, compliance controls, and conformance to IT security standards.
• Enable design governance, ensuring adherence to cloud standards and the acceleration of Data Management and Analytics solutions, as well as future Application Modernization roadmaps.
• Drive the adoption of architecture standards, patterns and policies across the enterprise.
• Partner with technology stakeholder teams to define a Cloud Operating Model and supporting governance criteria and process for ownership, change management and roles & responsibilities.
• Consult with the technology leadership team regarding commercial vendor products & applications and their migration to Cloud platform.
• Knowledge of subscription options and SDLC processes to support Data and Application development needs.
• Expertise in infrastructure/server and resource management, including security, templates, hardening and domain implications.
• Assessment and design of network configuration with ability to optimize security and management.
• Active Directory management, and credential and role based access controls for related processes.
• Provide an objective, practical and relevant ideas, insights and advice to IT & Business.
• Work with peers to build tailored solutions with repeatable design patterns that can be reused across the enterprise.
• Directly support the design, use and delivery of cloud services in the organization.
• Knowledge transition, mentoring and production support planning.
• Policy, governance, billing and management

Decision Making Responsibilities:

• Consult, in collaboration with IT leadership, on best approaches to build cloud capabilities.
• Consult, in collaboration with Data and Application teams, on fit for purpose cloud solutions and appropriate use cases of design patterns to fulfill business requirements.
• Help build roadmaps, in collaboration with Enterprise Architecture and Technology leadership, for use of cloud services and providers in alignment with technology and business modernization plans.

Desired Skills & Experience:

• Experience architecting and building IaaS, PaaS, & SaaS cloud solutions for a large corporation. Esp. Microsoft Azure.
• Microsoft Azure Certification.
• Practical experience in Microsoft Azure or other cloud platforms.
• Knowledge with modern cloud computing platforms such as Data Warehouse, Integration, Lake, Function, Machine Learning & AI, API and Web.
• Some experience with cloud software design patterns (micro-services, containers, FaaS, NoSQL)
• Familiar with Data and Application SDLC processes
• Some experience with continuous integration concepts and tools, such as Jenkins, Microsoft VSTS, Terraform, Foundations, etc.
• Familiarity with prominent Infrastructure as Code tools like Azure Resource Manager (ARM) and Terraform.
• Knowledge of the emerging cloud technologies and ecosystem and how to integrate with it.
• Ability to adapt to changing requirements and priorities

• Good verbal and written communication skills

Required Skills & Experience:

• Bachelor's Degree in Management, Computer Science, Business Administration, Math or equivalent related experience.
• Industry certification
• 3 years Architecting, designing, building cloud services.
• 5-10 years of IT experience.
• Experience architecting cloud foundational capabilities for Microsoft Azure for large Enterprises.
• Data and DevOps concepts and strategies
