Artist in Residence, Choral Music & Lecturer

Purpose:
The Department of Music at Knox College invites applications for a full-time staff appointment as an Artist in Residence in Choral Music and Lecturer in the Music Department beginning September 1 2026.
Summary of the position:
The successful candidate will demonstrate a visionary and inclusive approach to leading a liberal-arts college choral program excellence in undergraduate teaching and dedication to creating music within a diverse community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Artistic and administrative direction of Knoxs four choral ensembles: Knox College Choir (auditioned SATB) Chamber Singers (advanced SATB) Enharmonic Fire (high voices popular repertoire) and Tritones (low voices popular repertoire).
- Teach the equivalent of 2.0 credits/year in conducting music education and core musicianship. Additional areas of teaching may be possible depending on departmental need and candidate interest.

Minimum Education Required:
- MA in Choral Conducting or a related field.
Minimum Experience Required:
- Choral conducting experience at the secondary or post-secondary level.
Summary Pay Range: Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors job level market location job-related knowledge skills individual performance and experience. Please note that pay is only one component of total compensation.
