Staff Accountant

Staff AccountantLocation: This role is located on site, 5 days a week, at our office facility in Lodi, New Jersey.Help Strengthen the Financial Foundation Behind Our BusinessCFS Brands is looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant who enjoys digging into the numbers, keeping financial records accurate, and helping the business understand what's behind the results. In this role, you'll support key accounting activities across reconciliations, inventory, tax, audits, and financial analysis while working closely with the broader Finance team.What You Will Do:As the Staff Accountant, you will support accurate financial reporting through the following essential functions:Journal Entries. Prepare journal entries, analyses, and account reconciliations.Bank Reconciliations. Prepare monthly bank account reconciliations.Financial Reconciliations. Perform monthly Balance Sheet and P&L reconciliations.Sales Tax. Complete and file monthly/quarterly sales tax filings with the appropriate jurisdictions.Inventory Reconciliation. Reconcile Inventory On-Hand & In-Transit schedules consisting of vendor, freight, customs, & broker bills.Reserve Analysis. Analyze Inventory Excess & Obsolescence (E&O) Reserve, Bad Debt Reserve, & Rebate/commissions true-ups.Audit Support. Respond to information requests and assist with financial statement audit, sales tax audits, & 401k audits.Financial Analysis. Complete margin, variance, trend, & ad hoc analyses.Office Presence.
