A growing organization is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accounting Specialist to join its finance team. This position offers an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional who enjoys balancing day-to-day transactional responsibilities with broader accounting and financial reporting support.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, analytical, and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a dynamic business environment. This role requires strong technical accounting skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively across departments while maintaining confidentiality and accuracy.
Key Responsibilities
- Support month-end and year-end close activities, including preparation of journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Process and maintain accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions with a high level of accuracy and timeliness.
- Prepare and perform monthly bank, credit card, and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Assist with the preparation of financial statements, management reports, and audit schedules.
- Support payroll administration and related accounting activities.
- Review financial data for accuracy and identify discrepancies for resolution.
- Maintain accounting records and ensure compliance with internal controls and company policies.
- Partner with finance leadership to identify and implement process improvements that enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Assist with special projects and ad hoc financial reporting requests as needed.
Required Qualifications
- 2-5 years of accounting, bookkeeping or related finance experience.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, reporting, and data analysis.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate work.
- Excellent organizational, prioritization, and time-management skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience working with accounting and payroll systems, including platforms such as QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar ERP solutions.
- Understanding of GAAP and general accounting principles.
- Experience supporting audits and financial reporting processes.
