Description:
The School Psychologist provides psychological, behavioral, and educational assessment services that support student achievement and special education programming.
The works collaboratively with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams to evaluate student needs and develop interventions.
This role involves supporting compliance with special education regulations and promoting positive student outcomes across academic, social-emotional, and behavioral domains.
The School Psychologist provides diagnostic information on student learning and ensures students receive the necessary support and educational programming for success.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Conduct Full and Individual Evaluations (FIEs) and re-evaluations for students referred for special education services.
Assess cognitive, academic, behavioral, emotional, adaptive, and social functioning.
Conduct classroom observations and gather data from teachers and support staff.
Prepare comprehensive assessment reports and eligibility recommendations.
Complete evaluations within established timelines.


Participate in Admission, Review, and Dismissal Committee meetings.
Assist teams with interpreting assessment results and developing educational recommendations.
Support eligibility determination and placement decisions.
Contribute to the development of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and district policies.


Support Multi-Tiered Systems of Support and Response to Intervention processes.
Conduct Functional Behavioral Assessments when appropriate.
Assist teams in developing Behavior Intervention Plans.
Utilize data-based decision-making strategies to improve student outcomes.
Support academic, behavioral, and social-emotional interventions.


Collaborate with teachers, special educators, counselors, social workers, and administrators.
Consult with families regarding evaluation findings and student needs.
Provide recommendations regarding accommodations, interventions, and support services.
Assist with professional development and staff training initiatives related to student support and behavioral health.


Knowledge of psychological assessment instruments and evaluation procedures is essential.
Understanding of child development, learning theory, behavioral supports, and mental health practices is necessary.
Knowledge of relevant compliance requirements is important.
Strong data analysis and report-writing skills are required.
Exceptional interpersonal, consultation, and communication abilities are a must.
The ability to manage multiple evaluations, meetings, and compliance timelines is essential.
A commitment to educational equity and student-centered decision-making is required.
