You’ll start your day at 6:45 a.m., accompanying the student on the bus to school, then remain at their side during classes and activities, helping them thrive academically. Your school day ends at 3:30 p.m., with a 30-minute lunch break built in.

Key Qualifications:

• Active LVN license issued by the Texas Board of Nursing is required
• School-based experience preferred, but not mandatory
• Strong clinical skills in managing stable trach patients
• Excellent communication and rapport-building abilities
• Ability to pass district-specific fingerprinting and drug screening
• Commitment to confidentiality, empathy, and student-focused care

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide vigilant monitoring of a student with a tracheostomy throughout the school day
• Ride the bus to and from school with the student to ensure safety during transport
• Deliver hands-on nursing support as needed, responding promptly to any changes in student condition
• Collaborate with educational staff, maintaining open lines of communication about the student’s needs
• Foster an inclusive, supportive classroom environment
• Complete necessary documentation and uphold strict compliance with all district protocols
