In-Room Dining Order Taker

The Post Oak Hotel is seeking an In-Room Dining Order Taker to join the only double Forbes Five-Star Hotel in Texas. This position involves taking guest orders through the phone and in-person as needed while possessing detailed knowledge of food and beverage items on the menu and upselling guests on additional items where appropriate.

Responsibilities include:

• Being familiar with all standards of performance excellence and adhering to these standards throughout guests' experiences.
• Communicating additional meal requirements, allergies, dietary needs, and special requests to the kitchen.
• Ensuring correct posting in the POS system for communication to the service and kitchen department.
• Helping maintain cleanliness of work and guest areas by clearing, collecting, and returning food and beverage items to the proper area.
• Completing closing duties, including restocking items and cleaning as needed.
• Following all company and safety and security policies and procedures; reporting any maintenance problems, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries; and completing safety training and certifications.
• Maintaining confidentiality of proprietary information and protecting company assets.
• Speaking with others using clear and professional language and answering telephones using appropriate etiquette.
• Being knowledgeable about The Post Oak and its services.

Qualifications include:

• High School diploma or equivalent and/or experience in a hotel or related field.
• 1-3 years of restaurant experience. Previous hotel experience, luxury or Forbes experience preferred.
• Exceptional active listening skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Physical demands include moving, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, and placing objects weighing less than or equal to 25 pounds without assistance, assisting with moving, lifting, carrying, and placing of objects weighing in excess of 50 pounds, and standing, sitting, or walking for an extended period of time or for an entire work shift.
