Clinical Staff Pharmacist, First Shift, Outpatient Pharmacy

Job Description UC Health is hiring a Clinical Staff Pharmacist for the Inpatient Pharmacy Department at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center. The position includes a $20,000 sign‑on bonus and an hourly pay range of $60.27 to $79.88, adjusted based on experience, skills, and market factors. Location Cincinnati, OH, United States Responsibilities Prepare and dispense medication orders per physician requests according to established policies, procedures, and protocols. Interpret verbal and written medication orders and transcribe them accurately into computerized medication profiles. Prepare and dispense sterile, chemotherapy, and parenteral nutrition preparations safely and accurately using appropriate techniques. Issue controlled substances to patient care areas and maintain records as required by law. Ensure safe, appropriate, and cost‑effective medication therapies for patients, following established policies and procedures. Contribute to the quality and effective operation of the department. Maintain competence required for the current position and meet hospital and department performance standards. Assist with the pharmacokinetics consult service and drug dosing per organizational protocol. Qualifications Education: B.S. in pharmacy from an accredited college of pharmacy is required; PharmD preferred. License and Certification: Licensed or eligible for pharmacist licensure in Ohio. ACLS preferred. Experience: Minimum six‑month hospital pharmacy internship or hospital pharmacist experience. Preference for completion of a PGY1 residency or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Skills and Knowledge: Ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision; collaborate cooperatively with health‑system and pharmacy staff; handle frequent interruptions and adapt to changes in workload and schedule; set priorities, make critical decisions, and respond quickly to emergent requests; exercise sound professional judgment; communicate effectively orally and in writing; and meet pharmaceutical care needs of the patient populations served by UC Health.
