Exciting Opportunity for Med Surg Nurses!

Job Description:


- Shift: Nights (12 hours)
- Schedule: Fri, Sat, Sun, 36 hrs/week; holiday rotation; No Call
- Local Radius Rule: No locals within 50 miles of the facility
- Employee Separation Policy:
- Past employees of UPH (FTE or PRN) cannot work travel in another Market for 12 months.
- If they worked travel at UPH (not FTE or PRN), the separation policy does not apply.


- Holiday Requirements:
- Required to work 1-2 of 3 upcoming Summer holidays (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day)

- Unit Information:
- Patient Types: Med Surg, all surgical cases except ortho and spine
- Patient Ratios: 1:4/5 (days); 1:5/6 (nights)
- Bed Size: 46
- Required Scrubs: Black or Blue
- Common Drips: amiodarone, dilitiazem, heparin, dobutamine, milrinone
- Travelers will float across Med Surg units throughout the hospital.

- Submission Requirements:
- Must have at least 24 months of Stepdown, Progressive Care, or Med Surg experience [required]
- First-time travelers welcome!
- EPIC electronic medical systems experience [required]
- Experience with drips: amiodarone, dilitiazem, heparin, dobutamine, milrinone [required]
- Equipment experience with: chest tubes, JP drain, 3-way foley, NG [required]

- Profile Requirements:
- Work history/resume must reflect 24 months of current Med Surg experience [required]
- Skills Checklist specific to Med Surg [required]
- Nursys must state Active Iowa/IA license or compact at time of submission [required]
- Professional Reference from charge/supervisor/nurse manager/director/CNO/COO reference within 24 months [preferred]
- Driver's License [document required]
- AHA/Active American Heart Association or ARC/AMERICAN RED CROSS BLS certification [required]
