Retail Personal Banker I – Louisville, Kentucky General Function: Selected candidates are intended for a Retail Personal Banker I role after completing a 4‑8 week onboarding and education program that includes rotations in operations and Sales & Service. The program culminates in a certification to demonstrate the skills necessary to perform successfully in the Retail Personal Banker job family. The Personal Banker I is a Financial Center position focused on using the consultative sales process to proactively identify and meet the financial needs of customers or prospects. Responsibilities include acquiring new households and deepening existing relationships through lobby leadership, aisle time, tele‑consulting, and other activities. The role also processes teller transactions and works as a member of the platform staff, ensuring risk compliance and delivering a positive customer experience aligned with the bank’s risk appetite. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Use the consultative sales process and Financial Needs Assessment to build thorough customer profiles and identify current and future financial needs. Maintain an in‑depth knowledge of retail consumer and small business products/services, recommending appropriate solutions using the value proposition. Utilize CAMP and other marketing tools to proactively reach out to customers, set appointments for periodic financial reviews, and focus on cross‑selling and outside sales activities such as Membership Advantage presentations, business sales calls, and community financial literacy events. Establish close relationships with assigned business partners (Mortgage, Small Business, Commercial, and Investment), referring customers as needed. Consistently meet or exceed customer experience and production goals, contributing to year‑over‑year revenue growth measured by the Financial Center P&L. Provide guidance to CSRs on sales and referral processes, promote customer satisfaction with a friendly and professional demeanor, and maintain confidentiality. Follow the Bancorp Code of Business Conduct and Ethics, adhering to all policies and procedures while opening/servicing the full range of retail products. Participate in the consumer loan and bank card process, owning sourced loans from application through closing. Participate in opening/closing processes of the Financial Center or Bank Mart as directed. Keep current on procedures that mitigate fraud and risk. Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required: College degree or equivalent work experience with transferrable skills, or a combination of education and experience. Preferred experience in the financial industry. Demonstrated ability to engage in sales activities that acquire new consumer households and small business customers and/or cross‑sell to established customers. Proficiency with advanced math functions for credit and financial analysis. Professional appearance, and verbal and written communication skills. Working knowledge of retail policies and procedures to make sound decisions. Position requires S.A.F.E. Act registration through the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System at the time of employment. Working Conditions: Normal office environment with extended computer screen use. Requires travel within the affiliate for training and scheduling flexibility, as well as occasional travel outside the affiliate for classroom training.
