Registered Nurse (RN) Operating Room

Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Profession: Staff Nurse Specialty: Operating Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Evening Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 3-5 years in an OR License: Current Registered Nurse License Certifications: BLS Certification (AHA, HSI, or American Red Cross) Must-Have: - Six (6) months to three (3) years of Nursing (RN) experience - Collaboration skills - Communication skills (verbal and written) - Judgement and critical thinking - Organizational understanding - Planning and time management - Problem-solving skills - Reliability - Safety and risk management Description: The Registered Nurse (RN) protects, promotes, and optimizes health and abilities. The RN prevents illness and injury and alleviates suffering through diagnosis and treatment. The RN advocates for the care of individuals and families. The RN is responsible for compliance with all standards of practice and professional development. This is in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act and applicable policies. The RN promotes a caring and healing environment for patient-centered care. The RN assesses, plans, delegates, coordinates, implements, and evaluates nursing care. This includes managing a group of patients and serving as the primary nurse when designated. The RN educates patients and families in health promotion and disease management. The RN utilizes working knowledge of pharmacology and safely administers medications. The RN shares responsibility for productivity and effective resource utilization. This includes staffing, time management, supplies, and services. The RN complies with all nursing practice standards, regulatory requirements, and policies. The RN actively participates in and supports the Nursing Shared Governance Model. This includes supporting councils, participating in improvement initiatives, and peer review practices. The RN engages in professional development and completes all mandatory education requirements. The RN integrates nursing research and current evidence into practice. The RN provides a supportive learning environment for new employees and students. The RN may perform duties related to the Charge Nurse or Shift Coordinator role when assigned. The RN participates in the Clinical Ladder Program as knowledge and expertise develop. The RN may perform other duties as assigned. The RN must have trauma surgery experience preferred but not necessary. The RN should have experience in General, GYN, GU, ENT, Orthopedics, and Robotics. The RN works one weekend every 3 to 4 weeks and is on-call for 1 to 2 shifts per week.
