Work Location: Salmon River Central School District

Salary Range: According to Salmon River Teachers Association Contract

Minimum Qualifications: New York State Certification for a teacher of the Speech and Hearing Ability to establish good rapport with students, staff and parents Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable

Major Duties: Provides a therapeutic program to meet individual needs of speech, hearing and language to disabled children Provides a thorough assessment and diagnosis of speech, voice, hearing and language impairments Provides screening to identify speech disabled children at regular intervals and at specified levels, including Pre-K and Kindergarten screening Provides appropriate individualized programs of therapy to meet individual students' needs and correct existing speech or language disabilities Collaborates with classroom teachers and other school staff members to implement therapy by suggestions for the students' daily activities Provides information, support, and counseling to parents and families when appropriate Completes Medicaid requirements as directed by the Director of Special Education
