Medical Science Liaison, Hepatology- North East (MA, CT,NY, NJ, PA)

As Field Based Medical Science Liaison (MSL), you will execute the external engagement strategy aligned to the therapeutic portfolio and implement the external engagement plan aligned to Therapy area strategies, driving a consistent approach to field engagement.

Responsibilities

• Identify External Experts, professional groups, decision makers, and other key stakeholders in the assigned therapy area or geography.
• Respond compliantly to unsolicited information requests from healthcare professionals regarding licensed or un-licensed GSK medicines and indications; ensure medical information responses are factual, fair, balanced, scientifically rigorous, and compliant with GSK standards and local codes of practice, guidelines and laws.
• Disseminate safety information to the healthcare profession as directed; conduct scientific exchange to inform and educate HCPs on appropriate use; deliver scientific presentations to formulary committees and HCPs as requested.
• Maintain expertise in evolving scientific and therapeutic areas and competitor medicines.
• Attend and contribute to regional account planning and training sessions as required.
• Attend national and regional scientific and medical meetings to gain the medical voice of the customer on recent data relevant to GSK products and disease states of interest.
• Support clinical development activities and programs including GSK and Investigator Sponsored Studies; collaborate with R&D to improve site performance and provide insight into research interests and field inquiries.
• Conduct individual discussions with steering committee members, advisory board members, and consultants on topics related to GSK research and publications of GSK-sponsored work.
• Provide scientific training for GSK sales representatives and for HCPs to speak on behalf of GSK; assist with speaker training events.
• Partner with matrix colleagues (e.g., sales, marketing, market access) to ensure strategies are patient- and business-focused and add value to external experts.

Qualifications

• Pharm.D or Ph.D, DNP, or MD with a medical or clinical focus.
• Two or more years of experience in pharmacology and pharmacotherapy in humans with practical clinical application.
• Must live within the specified territory.

Preferred Qualifications

• Residency or post-doctoral training in a clinical/pharmaceutical practice setting.
• Pharmaceutical industry experience or medical liaison experience; specific therapeutic area experience is a plus. Qualified candidates may be considered for Senior MSL.
• Previous clinical experience with decision-making authority for patient care (e.g., protocol development, drug therapy guidelines).
• Above-average computer literacy and experience with software applications.
