Duties & Responsibilities Purpose of Position This class of position may encompass supervisory, administrative and clinical activity with varying degrees of latitude for independent judgment involving day-to-day supervision of an operating segment of the Respiratory Therapy Department in the delivery of respiratory therapy services. May perform respiratory therapy procedures as required. All personnel perform related work. Examples Of Typical Tasks Identifies quality assurance issues and ensures adherence to established protocols and standards of care. Provides in-service training related to the delivery of respiratory therapy services. May participate in research activities related to respiratory care. Participates in product evaluations. Provides clinical supervision in specialty care areas as assigned. Duties Assists in the planning, development and coordination of the department quality assurance program. Participates in the evaluation of discharged patients for home respiratory care. Plans, develops and coordinates in-service training programs related to the delivery of respiratory therapy. Plans, develops and coordinates research activities relating to respiratory therapy. Plans, develops and coordinates product evaluations relating to respiratory care. Arranges for the provision of clinical supervision in specialty care areas. May be assigned duties and responsibilities of immediate supervisor in his or her absence on a temporary basis. Minimum Qualifications Graduation from an Associate Degree program in Respiratory Therapy approved by the New York State Board of Education or a program determined equivalent in accordance with the Commissioner of the State Board of Education's regulations; and, Possession of a current license to practice as a Respiratory Therapist in the State of New York; and, Possession of current registration as a Respiratory Therapist issued by the National Board of Respiratory Care. #J-18808-Ljbffr NYC Health + Hospitals
