About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Operating Room Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years preferred. Previous travel experience preferred. License: Pending license acceptable. Certifications: BLS required. Must-Have: - Experience with various surgical procedures including but not limited to hysterectomy, amputation, and orthopedic surgeries. - Ability to respond to codes and monitor patient sedation. - Proficient in utilizing various surgical equipment and technologies. Description: The registered nurse will work in the operating room on day shifts. The role requires 12-hour shifts with rotation for call duties. Call shifts will be scheduled approximately three times on weeknights and two to three on weekends. Experience in multiple surgical procedures is necessary. Skills in patient monitoring and emergency response are essential. Nurses must be able to scrub for surgeries across various specialties. Certification in basic life support is required. The nurse will care for a diverse patient population, including adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. The unit typically handles a daily census of around 35 patients. Interdisciplinary support will be available, including physical therapy and respiratory services. Travelers may be required to float to similar units as needed. All skills and experiences should align with the unit's operational needs.
