RN OR Circulator

Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse (RN) - OR Circulator is responsible for providing skilled nursing care in the Operating Room setting, ensuring patient safety and effective surgical support. This role involves patient assessments, medication administration, treatment planning, and collaboration with the surgical and interdisciplinary teams. The RN will utilize their expertise to manage perioperative care and maintain high standards of clinical practice. Responsibilities:

• Provide circulating nursing care during surgical procedures in the Operating Room.
• Perform patient assessments and monitor patient status before, during, and after surgery.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure patient safety and quality care.
• Prepare the operating room environment and equipment for surgical procedures.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care and surgical events.
• Participate in infection control and safety protocols.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and team members.

Required Skills & Certifications:

• Active Registered Nurse license in the state of California.
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
• At least 3 years of nursing experience, preferably with perioperative or Operating Room exposure.
• TB clearance within the last 12 months.
• Clinical assessment, medication administration, and treatment planning skills.
• Strong interdisciplinary team collaboration and communication skills.
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing or related field preferred.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

• Experience specifically in Operating Room nursing or perioperative nursing.
• Additional certifications related to surgical nursing or specialty areas.
• Experience working in a fast-paced hospital environment.

Special Considerations:

• Must be able to work in a hospital Operating Room environment.
• Housing resources are available through external websites for travel nursing assignments.
• Compliance with hospital policies and procedures including infection control and safety standards.

Scheduling:

• Full-time position with 40 hours per week guaranteed except during holiday weeks (Thanksgiving and Christmas).
• Shift assignments typically aligned with Operating Room schedules; may include day shifts.
