Registered Nurse InpatientBe a part of a world-class academic healthcare system, UChicago Medicine Crown Point, as a Registered Nurse in our Inpatient department position. UChicago Medicine is an integrated academic and community health system with multiple primary medical facilities within the surrounding suburbs of Chicago. UChicago Medicine, Crown Point is a two-story, 130,000-square-foot multispecialty care center and micro-hospital in Northwest Indiana, the academic health system's largest off-site facility and its first freestanding building in Indiana. This position is a 100% onsite opportunity, and you will be traveling in the field between patients' homes.The Inpatient Registered Nurse (IP RN) will perform primary nursing functions of assessing, planning, directing, performing, and evaluating patient care in the Inpatient Unit to patients of all ages suffering from various types of illness or trauma. The IP RN will serve as a professional role model by encouraging teamwork and collaborating with clinical and front office staff, administration, and other professional disciplines to ensure the delivery of high-quality care and optimal patient outcomes with the highest level of patient satisfaction.Essential Job Functions:Demonstrates ability to manage care within the established standards of nursing care and practice as defined by the state of Indiana and required by hospital accrediting bodies.Initiates care to stabilize patient and assists in managing life support needs by collaborating with physician and clinical staff, demonstrating appropriate admission, discharge, and transfer procedures.Provides high quality and high satisfaction bedside care and administers treatments under the direct supervision of the physician, anticipating patient needs and responding accordingly.Accurately and concisely documents services provided within the medical record in a thorough, timely manner.Collects laboratory samples and performs lab testing in accordance with CLIA regulations and established policies and procedures.Demonstrates ability to perform laboratory Quality Controls and Assessments, and routine daily, weekly, monthly, and periodic maintenance and function according to Laboratory policy and procedures.Participates in QAPI activities including participation in accreditation preparation and survey process and maintenance of accreditation, state, and CMS standards.Attends and participates in all applicable facility meetings, training, and development workshops, and reviews/understands all required policies and procedures.Ensures proper supplies, appropriate medical equipment and medications are available for patient care and par levels meet patient and facility needs.Prepares patient meals in accordance with orders and facility protocols.Acts as case manager for patients under their careRequired Qualifications:Registered Nurse, in good standing, licensed in the state of Indiana.Minimum of 3 years' experience in a hospital progressive care or intensive care unit or equivalent experience.Active BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) and ACLS required.Position Details:Job Type/FTE: Registry (0.90 FTE)Shift: Days – 7:00am-7:00pm - 1/12hr shift/2week pay period = 3 shifts/6 weeks with 1 of those shifts being a weekend shift. 1 Summer Holiday, 1 Winter Holiday & 1 Special Day for the calendar year.Position Location: Crown PointUnit/Department: InpatientCBA Code: Non-Union
