Research Nurse PRN (Staff Wage)

The Center for Diabetes Technology at the University of Virginia is seeking Registered Nurses to work on a PRN (as-needed) basis. This role involves performing blood draws from indwelling catheters and via fingerstick on study participants, as well as adhering to research study procedures and protocols in both inpatient and on-location settings. Study-specific research training will be provided. Shifts may include day, evening, night, weekend, and holiday hours and are scheduled based on study needs. Employees will work on an as-needed basis (PRN) and will not exceed 40 hours per week. Compensation Hourly Rate is commensurate with qualifications and experience. This is a wage position which is not eligible for leave or other benefits and is limited to 1500 hours of work in a year. For more information, refer to the Wage Employment link: Minimum Requirements Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program required. Experience: 1 year of relevant experience required. Licensure: Licensed to Practice as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia. American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification required. Physical Demands Job requires sitting/standing for prolonged periods and frequently bending/stooping. Proficient communicative, auditory, and visual skills; attention to detail and ability to write legibly; ability to lift/push/pull 50–100 lbs.
