Job Details Location: Adair County, Kirksville, MO 63501 Position Type: Full Time Education Level: High School Salary Range: $21.90 hourly Shift: Day (Full-Time, 40 hrs per week) / On-call responsibilities required Job Category: Health Care Position Summary The Lead Support Professional (LSP) in Community Living supports the CVA and CHS missions by providing supervision of the day‑to‑day activities of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Aid individuals by providing physical and emotional support and maintaining a safe, clean, comfortable living environment through general housekeeping duties such as making beds, cooking meals, laundry, and caring for equipment. Empower individuals by seeking opportunities for independence, assisting skill development in self‑help, self‑determination, and self‑advocacy, and observing, encouraging, and recording progress toward established goals. Ensure regulatory compliance by managing health and regulatory documentation, ensuring timely completion, facilitating trainings and meetings, communicating with Professional Managers, participating in a tiered on‑call system, and demonstrating professionalism, reliability, good attendance, and accountability. Integrate individuals into the community by encouraging and facilitating community connections, building meaningful relationships, and encouraging participation in activities and programs. Lead a team of Direct Support Professionals by supervising, training, scheduling, administering performance evaluations, managing timesheets and time‑off requests, communicating with Professional Managers, and setting a standard of excellence. Strengthen a positive work culture through effective, courteous communication, kindness and patience, respect and responsibility, and advocacy and encouragement. Support individuals’ health by communicating with healthcare providers, supporting personal care and hygiene activities, assisting with medications, and assisting with therapies or other medically related needs. Skills and Abilities Accountability Accurate listening skills Attention to detail Compassion and kindness Courtesy and friendliness Ethical behavior and decision making Initiative Leadership and mentorship skills Management skills Organizational skills Positivity with a collaborative attitude Professional development skills Professional and courteous communication Stress management Time management with ability to meet documentation expectations and deadlines Welcoming attitude Competencies Able to document electronically in proprietary systems Able to follow directions Capable of passing required trainings (e.g., CPR/First Aid, Medication Administration, Universal Precautions) Comfortable with providing personal care Computer and electronic communication literate Learning‑focused Responsible and reliable Person‑centered Policy‑supportive Respectful and professional in communications Team builder Qualifications Required Education and Experience High School diploma or equivalent Some supervisory or management experience One year of experience working with individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities Required Miscellaneous Qualifications Valid driver’s license Reliable, licensed, and insured vehicle Must have reliable form of communication Ability to satisfactorily complete mandatory paid trainings including CPR/First Aid and Level 1 Med‑Aide Physical Requirements Ability and strength to position/lift/transfer more than 50 lbs (an adult human being) regularly, including the ability to safely assist an adult to the ground in performing CPR Continuous ability to push and pull 100‑125 lbs of pressure consistently over extended periods as required for CPR Continuous ability to kneel on hard or other surfaces for extended periods as required for CPR Lift, carry, squat, bend, move, push or pull, sit or stand repetitively and for long intermittent periods Type on a keyboard for extended periods and view a computer or other electronic screen for intermittent periods Walk and/or stand for extended periods Benefits CHS offers best‑in‑industry benefits.
