The Nurse Manager of Surgery will lead within an advanced Operating Room, also known as Surgical Services and Perioperative Services, engineered for complex cases across multiple specialties and coordinated seamlessly with pre-op, PACU, anesthesia, and sterile processing; serves the community with comprehensive services, including specialized emergency, pediatric, and intensive care units for adults, children, and newborns, as well as dedicated women's, maternity, cardiac, and neurological services. The Nurse Manager of Operating Room Perioperative Services will help optimize surgeon block utilization, drive throughput, and champion standardized protocols that enhance safety, efficiency, and patient experience across the surgery continuum. The Nurse Manager of Operating Room Surgical Services will report to a seasoned Director of Perioperative Services with executive nursing sponsorship and strong collaboration from anesthesia, surgery chairs, sterile processing, materials management, informatics, quality, and infection prevention; supported by experienced charge nurses, clinical educators, and coordinators, the Nurse Manager of Operating Room will oversee staffing and scheduling strategies, budget stewardship, capital planning, readiness for surveys, PI projects, and daily huddles that sustain a just culture; within this healthcare organization, the Nurse Manager of Perioperative Services will partner with friendly nurses and a diverse, interdisciplinary team that includes pharmacy, PT/OT, case management, social work, and ancillary experts who prioritize respectful communication, accountability, and high-reliability behaviors.
