Manufacturing Engineer responsibilities include designing, developing, and improving manufacturing processes, systems, and methods to optimize production and enhance product quality. This position involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, implementing process improvements, and ensuring efficient and cost-effective production for the MOV (Metal Oxide Viristor) lines.

A Day In The Life includes performing duties while maintaining proper industrial safety and chemical hygiene standards, developing, evaluating, and improving manufacturing methods by applying engineering and LEAN principles in fixture design, problem solving, and material selection. It also involves analyzing and planning workforce utilization, space requirements, and workflow, and designing layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency and product flow.

Other duties include applying Lean Manufacturing methods, executing process engineering activities to support and improve MOV manufacturing, supporting ceramic sintering and annealing operations to ensure MOV quality is maintained, using Lean techniques to identify areas of improvement in the manufacturing process, identifying, justifying, constructing, and executing capital projects for equipment and upgrades, troubleshooting manufacturing defects, troubleshooting equipment in downtime situations, conducting root cause analysis, and traveling less than 10%.

To thrive in this role, a bachelor's degree in ceramic, materials, or chemical engineering or similar degree with applicable experience, 3-5 years of process engineering experience, excellent communication and teamwork skills, experience with ceramic manufacturing methods, familiarity with electrical testing and measurement, strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing Principles, knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, familiarity with a factory MRP system such as SAP, experience with project management, ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities, experience with MiniTab or other statistical analysis software, and proficiency in CAD tools are required.
