8th Grade Track Coach Boys

Hours/Time/Calendar/Pay:

Evening weekend and holiday hours during the athletic season seasonal position stipend and terms per collective bargaining agreement

Reports To:

Varsity Track Coach Athletic Director and Building Principal

Position Summary:

The Middle School Track Coach is responsible for organizing leading and supervising an educational track team that promotes student-athlete development sportsmanship teamwork and academic success. The coach provides instruction in track skills and strategies while fostering a positive safe and inclusive environment consistent with school and district values.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous coaching and/or playing experience in track
• Knowledge of high/middle school athletic rules and regulations
• Strong leadership organizational and communication skills
• Ability to work effectively with students parents and school personnel

• CPR First Aid and concussion awareness training
• Background check clearance

Job Responsibilities:

• Plan organize and conduct practices that develop individual skills team concepts and physical conditioning
• Coach and supervise student-athletes during practices meets and related activities
• Teach and model sportsmanship ethical conduct teamwork and respect for opponents and officials
• Promote academic achievement and monitor student-athlete eligibility and attendance
• Communicate effectively with student-athletes parents/guardians administrators and athletic staff
• Supervise locker rooms travel and off-campus activities
• Participate in coaches meetings rules clinics and required professional development
• Support and comply with district policies athletic handbook provisions and state athletic association regulations
