Special Ed Teacher - Berkeley, California

Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) that meet state guidelines and student needs. Collaborate with general education teachers, aides, and related service providers to support student success. Use specialized instructional strategies and adapt curriculum to accommodate varying learning abilities. Monitor, document, and communicate student progress to parents, school staff, and administrators. Maintain a safe, structured, and positive classroom environment for all students. Participate in team meetings and contribute to the ongoing development of special education programs. Qualifications and Experience: Valid Special Education teaching credential or certification. Experience working with students with a range of disabilities, including emotional, cognitive, and physical challenges. Strong knowledge of state special education laws, IEP development, and inclusive teaching practices. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with students, families, and colleagues. Ability to differentiate instruction and manage diverse classroom dynamics.
