Clinical Educator (RN) Operating Room

Inova Fairfax Medical Campus is looking for an RN Clinical Educator Nursing to work with the Tower Operating Room (OR). The Tower OR is open 24/7, serving as the regions only Level 1 Trauma facility! The team is equipped to handle any complex or simple procedure that comes through the door, including but not limited to: Neurosurgery, Spine, Orthopedics, Surgical Oncology, Urology, Plastics, Robotics, Gynecology, Pediatrics, ENT, General, Trauma, Thoracic, Vascular, Dental, OMFS, Colorectal, Hepatobiliary and Transplant. Clinical Educator Job Responsibilities

• Utilizes system strategies and tools to assess the competency of new nursing staff members while focusing on quality of care and patient safety goals.
• Integrates theoretical knowledge, evidence-based principles and clinical nursing expertise into educational experiences for both new and experienced team members.
• Prepares annual self-development plans, sets professional goals and seek opportunities for achieving them.
• Contributes to quality and safety initiatives across the organization.

Hours: Full-time, M-F (regular office hours, with some flexibility as needed based on department needs)

Minimum Qualifications

• Education: Master's Degree or BSN and enrolled in Master's program upon start. If RN has a BSN and enrolled in Master's program, RN must meet with their Nurse Leader within 3 months to conduct the following:
• Provide a written plan with anticipated Master's completion date
• Submit a review of transcripts from the school indicating the required pre-requisites and timeline for taking the courses
• Complete Master's within 3 years of start date.
• Experience: 2 years of progressive experience in nursing in designated specialty; 3 months of experience serving as preceptor
• Certification: BLS from the American Heart Association; Licensed or eligible for licensure in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Registered Nurse or an active multi-state RN License.
