Mortgage Loan Originator

Overview We invite you to join a dynamic team of professionals dedicated to service. This position offers a flexible hybrid work arrangement, allowing employees to balance in‑office collaboration with remote work. The necessary tools and technology are provided to ensure seamless productivity. Responsibilities Assist intermediaries and prospective members with their mortgage lending needs in an efficient, accurate, and professional manner. Answer general questions, conduct pre‑qualification, new loan origination, maintain an active pipeline, proactively seek new loan prospects, and provide processing support. Proactively solicit mortgage referrals from internal sources (branches, member services, new business development, etc.) and act as subject‑matter expert on first‑mortgages for new and existing members. Review and follow up on all first‑mortgage loan referrals, and originate first‑mortgage loans via telephone sales presentations and face‑to‑face interactions as needed, always taking complete loan applications. Work with loan processors, underwriters, Realtors, and title attorneys to build teamwork through communication. Meet all loan production, service, and quality goals through proactive and responsive self‑sourcing and pipeline management activities. Conduct and participate in mortgage‑related promotional events, activities, and seminars, maintaining a strong working knowledge of current trends, compliance requirements, and industry changes. Qualifications & Requirements Minimum 2 years of recent production experience with conventional saleable purchase‑money loans and purchase transactions from external referral sources. Must have and be eligible to maintain an active NMLS license number. Minimum of 5 years of experience in residential lending preferred. Documented current loan referral sources. Strong knowledge of Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, FHA, VA, and USDA guidelines. Demonstrated knowledge and practical experience in applying credit‑risk principles to lending recommendations. Understanding of financial‑services related products and overall financial‑services operations. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to routinely work Saturdays. Fluency in English required; Spanish preferred. Physical Requirements Employees must be able to perform essential job duties, communicate face‑to‑face or via technology, sit and stand for various increments of time, lift or push up to 10lbs, and perform clerical duties on various forms of technology.
