Workers Compensation Attorney

Job Overview A law firm seeks a Workers' Compensation Attorney in Charlotte, NC to represent injured employees in North Carolina Workers' Compensation cases at various judicial levels. Duties Represent injured employees in NC workers' compensation cases. Provide legal advice and representation during all case stages. Assist clients in obtaining benefits under the NC Workers' Compensation Act. Litigate cases at Deputy Commissioner, Full Commission, and Court of Appeals levels. Draft pleadings, discovery, orders, and motions. Negotiate settlement agreements and releases. Draft briefs for various levels of the NC Industrial Commission and Court of Appeals. Oversee and manage Case Managers and Paralegals. Requirements Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school. License to practice law in North Carolina. Minimum of 2 years' experience in a Workers' Compensation or insurance defense firm. Experience with complex Workers' Compensation claims. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Exceptional analytical, writing, and communication skills. Outstanding interpersonal skills. Self-motivated with initiative to work independently. Excellent organizational skills and ability to multi-task. Extensive knowledge of medical issues in Workers' Compensation claims. Proficiency in Microsoft Windows/Office and ability to learn new software. Experience with Litify software is preferred. Education Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school. Skills Analytical writing and verbal communication. Interpersonal and organizational skills. Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
