\n \nPosition: Senior Auditor
\n \nLocation: Hybrid, Washington, DC
\n \nResponsibilities:
\n \nLead and manage audit engagements for nonprofit clients, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and auditing/accounting standards.
\nDevelop and execute audit plans, including risk assessment, testing procedures, and reporting.
\nEvaluate internal controls and identify areas for improvement in financial and operational processes.
\nPrepare financial statements and/or conduct detailed reviews of financial statements, supporting documentation, and accounting records to ensure accuracy and completeness.
\nProvide guidance and support to junior team members, including reviewing their work and providing constructive feedback.
\nCommunicate audit findings and recommendations effectively to clients, including presenting complex financial information in a clear and understandable manner.
\nCollaborate with clients to address audit issues, resolve discrepancies, and implement best practices.
\nRegularly communicate audit progress, status updates, and significant findings with the audit manager or partner.
\nStay abreast of developments in accounting regulations and nonprofit industry trends to ensure audit methodologies remain current and effective.
\nBuild and maintain strong client relationships through professionalism, responsiveness, and reliability.
\nParticipate in firm-wide initiatives, such as training programs and quality assurance reviews, to enhance professional development and uphold audit quality standards.
\nQualifications:
\n \nBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
\nCPA certification or completion of one or more sections of the CPA exam.
\n3 to 5 years of auditing experience, ideally within nonprofit accounting.
\nProfound comprehension of auditing principles and standards.
\nProficiency in the MS Office Suite.
\nFamiliarity with Caseware Working Papers or CCH ProSystems fx Engagement is a plus.
\nExceptional communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
\nDemonstrated commitment to serving nonprofit organizations.
