The Role: As a Sales Manager of the Corporate Commercial Team, you will have the opportunity to work with major travel and brand advertisers in the fast-paced, online travel-advertising environment. You will play a critical role within the company to support in scaling Sojern's business by uncovering new business opportunities with clients in your assigned market(s). This is a remote job position. Responsibilities: • Identify and secure strategically, new customers in the assigned market(s) • Responsible for driving Sojern's revenue growth of business in the assigned market(s) • Independently create and deliver persuasive presentations that educate the market and demonstrate Sojern's value proposition • Develops and implements an extensive strategy that maximizes Sojern's opportunities across all products • Take a lead role in developing, managing and growing an advertising book of business predominantly in the travel sector. • Collaborate with account managers to ensure smooth handover of new campaigns, effective QBRs and continue to monitor campaign success for learning and driving efficiencies. • Negotiate and secure insertion orders on behalf of Company to achieve set business goals through commercial terms that include commission levels and advantageous upselling opportunities • Maintaining an accurate forecast of sales opportunities in the pipeline for timely execution • On a quarterly basis, achieving and exceeding targets with your astute sales strategies • Research and discover (& effectively implement) methods to increase customer engagement and retention • Keep abreast of any regional hotel electronic distribution and marketing trends: new, emerging or changing • Deep understanding of the business culture in the assigned market(s) to drive optimal client engagement
Success Criteria: • Aligning and Executing Sales Strategy - Establishing a plan to achieve the unit's sales objectives, taking into consideration the overall business and sales goals, market opportunities, past sales results, and available resources; reviewing progress and adjusting the plan as needed. • Business Acumen - Using one's knowledge of economic, financial, market, and industry trends to understand and improve individual, work group, and/or organizational results; using one's understanding of major business functions, industry trends, and own organization's position to contribute to effective business strategies and/or tactics. • Broadening Business Value - Exploring customers' underlying issues and needs that suggest broader solutions; maximizing the productiveness of sales interactions by building on customer cues to gain commitment to products, services, and solutions; articulating and promoting a path forward • Guiding Sales Opportunities - Developing strategic sales solutions and courses of action for customers that appropriately consider available facts, constraints, competitive circumstances, strategic priorities, and probable consequences; clearly connecting solutions to business needs. • Sales Negotiation - Effectively exploring alternatives and positions to reach mutually beneficial sales agreements that gain customers' acceptance and commitment. • Targeting Sales Opportunities - Identifying the most promising new sales opportunities by uncovering emerging business and market issues and then identifying potential customer organizations and their influential decision makers who would be interested in improving these business results • Building Influential Partnerships - Leveraging relationships with internal and external partners to persuade key stakeholders to take action that will address customers' needs and advance sales. • Driving for Results - Setting high goals for personal and group accomplishment; using measurement methods to monitor progress toward goals; tenaciously working to meet or exceed goals while deriving satisfaction from that achievement and continuous improvement. • High-Impact Communication - Clearly and succinctly conveying information and ideas to individuals and groups in a variety of situations; communicating in a focused and compelling way that drives others' thoughts and actions. • Emotional Intelligence Essentials - Establishing and sustaining trusting relationships by accurately perceiving and interpreting own and others' emotions and behavior; leveraging insights to effectively manage own responses so that one's behavior matches one's values and delivers intended results. • Leveraging Feedback - Taking full advantage of opportunities to receive and explore feedback about own performance (from assessments, managers, coworkers, internal/external partners, or customers); responding favorably to feedback and using it constructively to take action to improve knowledge, skills, behavior, and impact on others.
Qualifications: • 4+ years overall experience, with at least 2 years of relevant experiences in hospitality, digital and programmatic advertising and/or travel industry • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Proven track record of exceeding goals and contributing to team success • Ability to multitask, prioritize and manage time effectively • Effectively influence and communicate cross-functionally • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Exceptional sense of quality-orientation and attention to details • Highly goal-driven and enjoys working in a fast-paced environment • Bonus - Contacts in the travel and hospitality industry • Proficiency in standard business and sales software, including but not limited to Salesforce, Gsuite, and Office products • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university • Travel Required - 20%
