Campbell County Custodian I

Campbell County is currently seeking a full-time Custodian I to join our team. The shift is Monday-Friday, 3:00pm-11:30pm. This position offers full benefits including medical, dental, vision, disability and life insurance along with Virginia State's Retirement Plan (VRS). Campbell County has a generous vacation and leave plan including holidays, personal days, floating holidays and community service leave to use.

Position will be open till filled.

Salary Band 1

FLSA: Non-Exempt

Reports to: Staff as assigned

Staff supervisory responsibility: No

General service areas/conditions: Work is performed both indoors and outdoors where uncomfortable conditions exist. Work involves minimal physical strain. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

Makes a daily difference in the Campbell County organization and locality through: hard work, open and honest communication, ongoing improvement and accountability.

Performs with excellence, the following tasks, including but not limited to:

• Sweeps, mops floor;
• Vacuums carpet;
• Cleans bathrooms and cares for toiletries;
• Cleans windows inside and outside;
• Dusts;
• Strips and waxes floors;
• And other cleaning tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• Two years of related experience
• Valid Virginia driver's license and insurable under county's policy.
• Requires completion of National Incident Management System IS-700 and IS-100 within 90 days of employment.

Core skill sets:

• Knowledge of general commercial cleaning methods. Good interpersonal skills for interaction with building occupants;
• Participation in in-house training programs;
• Participation in other outside training as available;
• Basic understanding and ability to utilize the county's adopted software platform.
