Key Responsibilities of the RN - PACU- Post Anesthetic Care

• Deliver patient care through the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
• Administer and monitor patient responses to medications
• Direct and guide patient care, teaching, and activities of ancillary personnel
• Maintain standards of professional nursing in line with Hospital Policy
• Provide documentation of patient assessments throughout hospital admission
• Participate in staff meetings, mandatory programs, and continue professional development
• Represent the hospital in a professional manner concerning confidentiality and service excellence

Requirements of the RN - PACU- Post Anesthetic Care

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
• Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
• ACLS and PALS Certification
• Successful passage of CCH's Pharmacology exam
• Basic Arrhythmia Program or challenge exam
• One year of recent experience in ICU/CVICU/CVPA/ER or SDC/PACU
• Demonstrated skills in IV starts, hemodynamic monitoring, and ventilator care
