Shift Supervisor - 3rd Shift

Third Shift SupervisorAmerican Wood Fibers (AWF) is a manufacturer of both consumer and industrial products that are sold to multiple manufacturers as well as pet, agricultural, and home-heating markets. AWF is comprised of 450+ employees and holds operations at 11 locations, generating over $100M in annual sales revenue. We are currently seeking a candidate for the Third Shift Supervisor role in our Marion, VA facility.Essential ResponsibilitiesPlant OperationEnsure that the plant is meeting the needs and demands of the customersEnsure that the staffing is adequate and working on the proper taskEnsure that the SOP's are followed and products are produced, packaged, and shipped as neededEnsure that all plant personnel are properly following all procedures, including the use of any required PPE/safety-related deviceHelp facilitate training (operational, task, safety, etc.)Direct the workforce in the plant (system operation), packaging, and warehouseConfer with other supervisors and communicate with peers, subordinates, and management in a professional manner to assure assignments are being properly completedSupervise loading and unloading of trucks and completion of paperworkVerify incoming shipments – completing a daily inventory count and production reportAdministrationEnsure that all paperwork is completed accurately in a timely mannerSupport the monthly inventory cycle as directedEnsure that any discipline need is discussed with the Plant ManagerImplement new policies as neededVerify accuracy of time detail for payroll and monitor attendanceSafetyHelp ensure the safety of all plant personnelImplement new policies and procedures to improve the safety and condition of the plantEnsures that all employees are provided the proper PPE and utilize it as requiredSupports the plant with cleanup plans, assessments, and auditsSupports the implementation of new systems to maintain and improve upon the safety culture of the plantOther DutiesDevelop key initiatives that reduce costs and improve the operationWork shifts and times as needed to meet customer demands (including OT)QualificationsHigh School Diploma or GEDMinimum of 3 years' experience in manufacturing, general labor, or packaging goodsAbility to lift up to 50lbs.Physical capability to bend, squat, or stoopBenefits401(k) matchingDental insuranceEmployee assistance programEmployee discountFlexible spending accountHealth insuranceHealth savings accountLife insurancePaid time offReferral programTuition reimbursementVision insuranceWork SettingIn-personOutdoor workWarehouseFor consideration…Due to the nature of our business, American Wood Fibers requires a tobacco and smoke-free environment.
