Controls Engineer Based in Rushville, IN, you will work as a Controls Engineer to develop, design, program, and debug new and existing equipment and automated/robotic solutions to optimize performance. Responsibilities Interact closely with cross-functional teams to develop, design, program, and debug new or existing equipment and automated/robotic solutions to optimize performance. Collaborate with Copeland engineers to ensure controls/automation/programming designs align with Copeland standards. Work with outside integrators and machine builders to confirm new equipment meets design requirements and performs as expected. Interface with Copeland manufacturing facilities to gain an understanding of their needs and how best to meet them. Develop documentation for use by operators and maintenance technicians to perform their duties and assist them in troubleshooting. Ensure all production related equipment meet all safety requirements in accordance with applicable industry standards. Complete other duties as assigned. Required Education, Experience & Skills Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Engineering Technology, or equivalent, plus 3–5 years of related experience, or an associate’s degree with equivalent work experience. Excellent communication skills, including listening, meeting facilitation, and project report‑outs. Experience in PLC/HMI programming. Written and verbal communication skills. Motivated self‑starter and team player, capable of working closely with Management, Product Engineering, Peers, Equipment Suppliers, and Plant Personnel. Experience and working knowledge of PC applications and Microsoft Online Products. Legal authorization to work in the United States; sponsorship will not be provided for this position. Preferred Education, Experience & Skills Experience with Prism Schedule Assembly or similar scheduling systems. Knowledge of a 4‑day, 10‑hour work‑shift schedule or willingness to work extended hours as required. Location & Working Hours The facility is located in Rushville, IN, less than an hour from Indianapolis.
