Music Therapist/ Licensed Clinician- Group Facilitator

About Us Life Adjustment Team (LAT) is a behavioral health program in Marina del Rey, providing individualized mental health services through our Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) and our Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP). Our approach focuses on helping clients develop practical tools, improve emotional well-being, and make meaningful changes in their everyday lives. We are looking for a creative, engaging, and compassionate Music Therapist / Licensed Mental Health Clinician to facilitate therapeutic music-based groups for our clients. We value facilitators who can connect with clients, encourage participation, and make therapeutic concepts approachable and relatable. Position Overview The ideal candidate is passionate about incorporating music into mental health treatment and understands how to use music as a therapeutic tool to encourage emotional expression, self-awareness, connection, and personal growth. This is not a music instruction or entertainment position. We are looking for a clinician who can thoughtfully integrate music into structured, clinically meaningful group sessions. Responsibilities Develop and facilitate engaging, music-based therapeutic groups for adults receiving mental health treatment. Incorporate activities such as music listening, lyric analysis, songwriting, rhythm, and creative expression to support therapeutic goals. Help clients explore emotions, improve coping skills, build self-awareness, and strengthen interpersonal connections. Collaborate with LAT's clinical team to ensure groups align with clients' treatment goals. Complete required clinical documentation in a timely manner. Create a welcoming, supportive, and inclusive group environment. Adapt activities to meet varying client needs, abilities, and comfort levels. Qualifications Required: Current California BBS licensure as an LMFT, LCSW, or LPCC. Experience facilitating therapeutic groups. Strong understanding of mental health conditions and therapeutic interventions. Ability to engage clients with varying levels of musical experience and interest. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and group facilitation skills. Preferred: Board-Certified Music Therapist (MT-BC) credential or formal training in music therapy. Experience incorporating music, expressive arts, or other creative approaches into psychotherapy. Experience working with adults in outpatient mental health, IOP, or similar behavioral health settings.
