About This Role The Registered Nurse Hemodialysis at Yale New Haven Health is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating individual patient care in a dialysis setting. This role is ideal for nurses with experience in renal care who are committed to providing high-quality patient-centered care. Highlights Location: New London, CT Facility: Yale New Haven Health Schedule: Full-time, Day shift What You'll Do Assess the patient's physical and psychosocial condition throughout the dialysis treatment. Develop, communicate, and document a plan of care related to the patient's acute dialysis schedule. Implement and coordinate the plan of care in collaboration with the nephrologist on call. Evaluate the effectiveness of the dialysis treatment and provide educational opportunities. Plan for education after assessing the individual learning needs of the patient and family. Function as a preceptor to new staff. Function as a charge nurse. Meet performance expectations for customer service and teamwork. Perform other duties as assigned to ensure smooth operation of the department/unit. Demonstrate knowledge of standards of care associated with acute dialysis treatment. Requirements Education Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; BSN preferred. Experience Previous experience with renal patients required. Med Surg experience preferred. Licenses & Certifications Valid State of Connecticut Registered Nurse License. BLS required and ACLS within 6 months.
