Lead Accounting Analyst

Health Care Services, Inc. is seeking an experienced Lead Accounting Analyst to support day-to-day accounting operations, the monthly financial close process, financial reporting, and internal controls. This individual will play a key role in improving accounting processes, analyzing financial performance, and collaborating with corporate and operational teams. Key Responsibilities

• Support daily accounting operations and the monthly financial close process.

• Prepare monthly journal entries and maintain accurate accounting records.

• Perform balance sheet reconciliations, review journal entries, and analyze financial statements.

• Conduct detailed profit and loss (P&L) reviews and variance analysis.

• Prepare and distribute monthly management reports and statistical analyses.

• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, reduce close-cycle times, and implement automation.

• Develop and maintain standard operating procedures to improve efficiency.

• Collaborate with external auditors during annual audits.

• Strengthen internal controls and accounting procedures to ensure financial accuracy and compliance.

• Partner with corporate and operations teams to investigate and explain financial variances.

• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• 5 7+ years of accounting experience.

• Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP accounting principles and policies.

• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

• Experience managing accounting operations, monthly close activities, journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting.

• Experience improving or automating accounting processes.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and financial reasoning skills.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and deadline management.

• Ability to work independently, demonstrate initiative, and take ownership of responsibilities.

• Leadership and collaboration skills, including the ability to work across teams and multiple locations.

• Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• CPA or MBA.

• Experience with Sage 100 accounting software.

• Experience strengthening internal controls and supporting external audits.

• Demonstrated ability to improve accounting workflows through technology and automation.
