Bring your expertise and passion for communication to an engaging school setting in the vibrant South San Jose area. This contract assignment begins ASAP and runs through June 11th, offering a chance to make a lasting difference for students through dedicated, onsite speech-language therapy services.
Ideal candidates will have a solid background supporting children’s speech, language, and communication needs in an educational setting. Your assessments, intervention plans, and collaboration with staff will ensure every student receives the individualized support they deserve.
Qualifications:
- Valid Clinical or Rehabilitative Services Credential authorizing services in Language, Speech, & Hearing, or a California credential authorizing services as a Language/Speech and Hearing Specialist.
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
- Active California Speech-Language Pathology license.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) preferred.
- Experience working in schools strongly desired; must be comfortable working onsite (no hybrid or virtual opportunities).
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct speech-language therapy to students with diverse communication needs, following individualized education plans (IEPs).
- Conduct initial and ongoing assessments, document progress, and participate in IEP meetings.
- Collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to support student success and ensure a cohesive approach to communication goals.
- Maintain accurate records and comply with state, federal, and district requirements.
- Serve as an advocate and resource for students and faculty regarding speech-language issues.
