Technical Project Manager (AWS cloud implementations)

As a Technical Project Manager within our Energy Technology Delivery Team , you will play a key role in leading complex projects that advance customer's cloud and data-driven strategies . Your focus will be on AWS cloud implementations , industrial automation initiatives , and enhancing digital infrastructure across exploration, production, and downstream operations. You will work closely with cross-functional internal teams and external technology partners , ensuring structure, efficiency, and strategic alignment in project execution.

• Lead and drive complex AWS cloud transformation projects within Customer's Technology Roadmap , from concept to full implementation across upstream, midstream, and downstream operations .
• Develop, maintain, and communicate a detailed project plan covering milestones, risk assessments, and key decisions , ensuring alignment with engineering and operations teams.
• Ensure timely delivery of projects within scope, budget, and compliance requirements , reinforcing Sutherland's commitment to operational efficiency.
• Guide and structure cloud initiatives by defining best practices for cloud adoption , including data security, scalability, and integration with IoT-enabled assets .
• Facilitate daily project execution , organizing key meetings, preparing updates, and holding stakeholders accountable for progress.
• Build strong relationships across engineering, IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, refinery operations, and regulatory compliance teams , ensuring alignment with industry standards.
• Define and continuously improve project management tools and governance protocols to streamline execution and drive efficiency.

• Practical experience managing AWS cloud migration projects within the Oil & Gas, Energy, or Industrial sectors .
• Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure, data pipelines, and IoT-based analytics in Oil & Gas operations .
• Experience working with engineering, refinery, and IT teams , with expertise in project execution methodologies and release management .
• Knowledge of SCADA systems, industrial automation, and cloud-native solutions is a plus.
• Familiarity with incident management and compliance reporting within the energy sector.
• Experience delivering cross-functional projects across multiple teams, ensuring alignment with business, regulatory, and technology objectives .
• Expertise in agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and Waterfall project management for cloud-based solutions.
• Effective communicator , capable of presenting to executives, field engineers, and IT teams , while driving alignment among stakeholders.
• Ability to bring structure, clarity, and action bias to complex digital initiatives.
• Resilient and adaptable facilitator , able to navigate challenges, resolve conflicts, and drive outcomes in a dynamic Oil & Gas environment.

• Extensive experience leading digital transformation projects in Oil & Gas, Energy, or Industrial Automation firms .
• Strong background in change management , including impact assessment, stakeholder alignment, and training strategies.
• Familiarity with Industrial IoT (IIoT), data analytics platforms, and predictive maintenance technologies within cloud ecosystems.
• Experience working within regulatory frameworks such as NIST, ISO 27001, or energy industry compliance standards .
