Direct Counsel is representing a reputable law firm seeking an International Tax Associate to join its Miami office.

About the Role

This opportunity is ideal for an attorney with at least 2 years of experience in international private client tax matters . The associate will work on sophisticated cross-border tax and estate planning matters for high-net-worth individuals and international clients.

Responsibilities

• Advise clients on:
  • U.S. cross-border income tax and estate planning
  • Expatriation matters
  • Pre-immigration tax planning
  • Inbound and outbound tax planning
  • International private client tax issues
• Conduct legal research and draft tax planning memoranda and related documents
• Manage complex client matters in a fast-paced environment
• Work closely with attorneys and clients on international tax strategies and compliance matters

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of international tax experience focused on private client matters
• LL.M. in Taxation required
• Strong academic credentials and excellent research, writing, and communication skills
• Previous law firm experience preferred
• Fluency in Spanish or Portuguese preferred
• Strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage a demanding workload
• Must be admitted to the Florida Bar or eligible for admission
