About the Position

# Job Opportunity – Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Nurse – North Carolina**Start Date:** August 24, 2026 **Location:** Asheville, North Carolina **Compensation:** Details provided to qualified applicants **Schedule:** 12-hour shifts, every other weekend required; day or night shift available

Highlights:

• 44-bed Progressive Care Unit specializing in neuro and trauma care
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 4:1 at standard grid, 5:1 when stretched
• State-of-the-art equipment including IV pumps, PCAs, chest tubes, and patient lifts
• Collaborative team environment with dedicated CNCs, CNAs, and unit coordinators per shift
• Cerner EMR system
• Floating to stepdown and medical-surgical units as needed

Requirements:

• Current North Carolina RN license or compact state license
• ACLS and BLS certification (required)
• NIHSS certification (required)
• Neuro and trauma care experience (required)
• Proficiency in procedures including neuro/spinal assessments, c-collar placement, TLSO braces, chest tube management, PCA pumps, IV infusions, lumber drains, feeding tube placement, and blood transfusions
