Job Title: Direct Support Professional Service Opportunities: Participant Assistance and Care Provider, Respite, Day Habilitation, Individual Provider, PAC - Career Exploration and Placement Position Type: Independent Contractor Pay: Hourly/Bi-Weekly - $22.50 per hour Location: In-Home / Community-Based in Anderson, Indiana Preferred Availability: daytime hours, evening hours, and weekends Company Achieve Behavior Alliance Plus, LLC (“Achieve”) provides therapy on family‑friendly schedules, partners with parents, and offers real‑world support shaped by lived experience. Overview Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) contract with Achieve to provide individualized, person‑centered support for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Services include Participant Assistance and Care (PAC), Respite, Day Habilitation, and PAC–Career Exploration and Placement. DSPs build client independence by assisting with daily living activities, developing skills, and engaging in community involvement. Services Participant Assistant Care Provider (PAC): supports daily living, promotes independence and dignity, follows personalized care plans and ensures safety. Respite Provider: offers temporary relief to primary caregivers, supervises participants, engages them in suitable activities, follows protocols, and submits documentation. Day Habilitation – Individual Provider: facilitates day programming that builds social skills, independence, and community engagement; leads recreational activities, documents attendance and progress. PAC–Career Exploration and Placement: helps clients identify strengths, career preferences, and vocational goals; provides guidance on job readiness, workplace behavior, and community employment opportunities. Residential Habilitation Services: supports daily living skills, independence, health and safety, and community engagement within the client’s home environment. Responsibilities Provide person‑centered, direct care support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Assist with daily living activities, including meal preparation, personal hygiene, mobility support, and independence‑building tasks. Follow each individual’s support plan to promote skill development, communication, and community participation. Maintain a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment while protecting dignity and privacy. Observe, document, and report changes in behavior, health, or well‑being. Complete accurate service documentation and session notes. Communicate professionally with families, coordinators, and other providers. Coordinate schedules directly with individuals and families. Supervise and engage individuals during caregiver absences (service‑specific). Facilitate social, recreational, and skill‑building activities in home and community settings (service‑specific). Support adults with meaningful daytime routines and community inclusion (service‑specific). Assist individuals in exploring employment interests and developing job readiness and workplace skills (unique service‑specific). Work independently while collaborating with a support team as needed. Provide meaningful work that makes a positive impact. Skills Strong communication and interpersonal abilities. Professionalism, reliability, and independent problem‑solving. Ability to adapt to changing client needs. Capacity to maintain accurate documentation. Familiarity with Electronic Visit Verification (EVV) and electronic documentation. Previous DSP or caregiving experience working with children and/or adults. These skills support compassionate, effective care that promotes client independence, safety, and community inclusion. Physical Requirements Stand, walk, bend, twist, and reach. Assist with transfers. Provide support during showers or personal care. Safely assist clients with limited mobility. Required Certifications Indiana DSP Core Certification (Achieve will assist with online course access). CPR & First Aid (initial certification fee covered by Achieve; renewal fees incurred by Contractor). Negative TB test (initial test fee covered by Achieve; renewal fees incurred by Contractor). Clean background check processed through C4 Operations (initial check covered by Achieve; renewal fees every 3 years incurred by Contractor). HIPAA Course Completion. Qualifications Must be 18 years of age or older. High school diploma or equivalent preferred, not required. Valid driver’s license with reliable transportation to and from client locations. Active auto insurance with proper coverage (recommended by an insurance agent). Clean background check. Must not be excluded from receiving federal payments for providing healthcare services and consent to searches of the Office of Inspector General List of Excluded Individuals and Entities database at start of contract and monthly. Must not be excluded from federal healthcare programs and consent to searches of System for Award Management (SAM). Ability to obtain required certifications at start of contract or monthly. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently and with a team. Access to electronic devices with internet access. Prior DSP (in any or all service categories), caregiving experience, or other related experience. Experience working with individuals (children and/or adults) with developmental, intellectual disabilities, or autism. Familiarity with EVV and digital documentation for caregiving notes. Additional training in disability support or healthcare fields preferred. Experience in fields with similar features preferred. Enjoy working with children or teenagers.
