Position Title: Enterprise Monitoring Admin Location: Quantico, VA Clearance Requirements: Secret Position Status: Long Term Contract Pay Rate: $35-55 an hour depending on experience Required Skills/Education: SolarWinds, Remedy, Windows or Linux Administration Overview Enterprise Monitoring handles Windows Servers 2022 and Linux Ubuntu servers for the Marine Corps, and a big part of that is taking care of our SolarWinds servers. The monitoring system is kept running to provide visibility into the network status: up, down, slow, and potential issues before they become problems. We primarily check alerts, resolve SolarWinds issues, update, configure modules, ensure proper data ingestion, and coordinate with the DB team. SolarWinds is the first place to check when something goes wrong on the network, so it must stay healthy. If it crashes, we need to recover quickly, particularly when it supports a mission. A large portion of the job is keeping our SolarWinds servers up and running. Virtualization is also a major responsibility, with VMware used for stability. We maintain storage, backups, and disaster recovery plans to return services quickly if something goes down. Working across NIPR and SIPR networks requires constant security vigilance: applying STIGs, performing scans, and deploying patches as needed. I also mentor the team, ensuring they understand processes and are prepared in my absence. Responsibilities Ensure server admin Risk Management Framework (RMF) requirements are met. Conduct vulnerability scans, patch cycles, and security audits. Lock down systems without disrupting operations. Document and update system configurations. Maintain diagrams or notes for teammates. Manage Linux logs, services, and permissions. Apply networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, routing, VLANs, firewalls). Report issues and maintain security compliance. Work with vCenter, maintain VMs, storage, clusters, snapshots, and resource balancing. Anticipate problems and isolate for troubleshooting. Manage SolarWinds and Remedy installations, instabilities, and configuration changes. Communicate clearly and explain issues in plain English. Support junior team members and apply STIGs. Resolve ACAS findings, document changes, keep systems patched, and set up logs, auditing, and access controls. Coordinate with cybersecurity teams during assessments and maintain ATO compliance. Implement backup plans and quickly restore services after a server failure. Resolve complex server, network, and application issues as Level 3/4 support. Provide senior‑level escalation support to communications with the Government, Vendor, and Battle Captain. Monitor system performance, capacity, and availability across distributed environments. Ensure server infrastructure meets mission readiness standards and support operations during exercises, deployments, or contingency missions. Qualifications A solid senior admin should be comfortable with the responsibilities above, and be able to act independently while providing guidance to junior staff. Experience with Stellar (SolarWinds), Remedy, VMware, and enterprise security frameworks is required, as is strong troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills. #J-18808-Ljbffr Seneca Resources Company, LLC
