COMPUTER MAINT/REPAIR-CE/VOC: Adjunct / Substitute Instructor POOL (non-credit) Location: District Wide – Classrooms throughout San Diego Community College District campuses (City, Mesa, Miramar) and continuing education centers. Position type: Adjunct (part‑time, substitute). These part‑time faculty positions provide flexible hours and the opportunity to assist adult students in achieving their educational goals. Assignments may include lecture, lab, evening, weekend, or off‑campus classes. Major Responsibilities Deliver instruction in accordance with established curriculum and course outlines. Maintain appropriate professional conduct and ethics. Maintain current knowledge of content area. Teach all scheduled classes and fulfill part‑time obligations. Keep accurate records of attendance, grades, and other required documentation. Create an engaging learning environment that encourages discussion and critical thinking. Be available to students outside of class for support. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree and at least 2 years of occupational experience related to the subject taught; or Associate degree and at least 6 years of occupational experience related to the subject taught; or Equivalency that meets the above requirements. Demonstrated cultural competency and sensitivity to the diverse backgrounds of continuing education students. Desired Qualifications Experience in computer build and repair. Completed CompTIA A+ and Network+ certificates. At least 5 years of experience in an IT related position. Technical proficiency and interest in up‑to‑date IT knowledge. Availability to teach evenings and possibly Saturday classes. Ability to conduct fully online courses. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Conditions of Employment (pre‑appointment requirements) Submit official college transcripts. Provide Certificate of Tuberculosis Exam. Undergo Live Scan fingerprinting; clearance must be obtained before first day. Present original documents proving eligibility to work in the United States.
