Schedule: Flexible between 7:00 AM – 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Sewing Machine Operator – Cushion Upholstery to join our production team. In this role, you will sew and assemble a wide range of materials—including fabrics, vinyl, leather, polyboard, and polyfoam—to build custom interiors for aircraft. The ideal candidate possesses a keen eye for detail, strong material knowledge, and a commitment to high manufacturing standards.

Qualifications & Skills

• Experience: Hands-on experience in upholstery sewing or textile manufacturing (industrial/commercial sewing preferred).
• Technical Knowledge: Understanding of sewing machine operation, thread tension, needle selection, and material handling (leather, vinyl, polyfoam, polyboard).
• Quality Focus: Strong attention to detail with a commitment to manufacturing quality and error-free output.
• Equipment Care: Ability to perform basic troubleshooting and routine maintenance on industrial sewing equipment.
• Attributes: Self-motivated, reliable, and able to work well independently as well as part of a close-knit team.

Key Responsibilities

• Machine Setup & Operation: Prepare sewing machines by changing needles and thread, securing necessary attachments, and guiding materials under the needle for assembly.
• Material & Quality Inspection: Inspect incoming materials (fabrics, vinyl, leather, foams) for flaws prior to sewing; continuously evaluate finished products to ensure they meet quality specifications.
• Equipment Maintenance: Monitor machine performance, detect malfunctions, and adjust settings as needed. Complete preventive maintenance following manufacturer guidelines, troubleshoot minor issues, and request repairs when necessary.
• Production Tracking: Accurately document daily actions, output, and inspection results in production and quality logs.
• Teamwork: Maintain a clean, safe work area and collaborate with team members to accomplish shared goals.
