Maintenance Technician

Job TitleMaintenance TechnicianJob DescriptionShift: 12-hour night shift Schedule: 6 PM to 6 AM; 2/2/3 rotating schedule Pay: $28.00 per hour (commensurate with experience) Shift Differential: $2.00This position is responsible for providing maintenance support to a foam extrusion operation. The candidate must have a strong background in controls (PLC) and electrical troubleshooting, mechanical processes, and pneumatic and hydraulic systems. They must have a functional understanding of bulk material transport equipment, including loaders, hoppers, and vacuum systems. The candidate should possess basic computer skills, have a good work ethic, and be safety-minded with the ability to work in a group environment or independently. A basic understanding of Continuous Improvement is a plus.ResponsibilitiesTroubleshoot, diagnose, and repair Allen-Bradley PLC systems, HMI interfaces, and industrial control systemsPerform preventative maintenance on extrusion equipment, pneumatic systems, and hydraulic componentsMaintain and repair bulk material handling systems including hoppers, loaders, and vacuum transport equipmentCalibrate sensors, instruments, and control devices to ensure precise manufacturing specificationsInstall, modify, and upgrade manufacturing equipment according to engineering specificationsRebuild mechanical components and perform precision adjustmentsDocument maintenance activities in CMMS software and SAPParticipate in continuous improvement initiatives and TPM programsCollaborate with production teams to minimize downtime and optimize equipment performanceMaintain safe working conditions and adhere to all safety protocolsQualifications2 - 5 years of Industrial Maintenance or Maintenance Technician experience2-year technical degree required, electrical preferredStrong mechanical aptitude is requiredExperience working with plastics extrusion process or similar equipment preferredPLC (Programmable Logic Controllers) experience preferredExperience using a computer (SAP, MS Office, CMMS experience desired)Ability to drive mobile equipment preferred (Scissor lifts, forklifts, etc)Availability for overtime, other shifts for training, and covering for peers on occasionExcellent communication (written, verbal, and non-verbal) skillsTeam-oriented and able to work well with othersAble to stand for the entire shift and traverse the warehouseJob RequirementsMinimize equipment downtime and improve equipment reliabilityWork frequently with maintenance shop equipment (lathe, drill press, etc).Work with equipment and troubleshootMake safety improvementsUse of MS OfficeWork a 12-hour shift and overtime as neededBenefits and Perks401(k) matching Dental insurance Disability insurance Employee assistance program Employee discounts Flexible spending account Health insurance Life insurance Paid elder care Paid time off Parental leave Professional development assistance Retirement plan Tuition reimbursement Vision insurance
