What You’ll Do

As a First Class Pipefitter, you’ll be at the heart of complex shipbuilding projects, responsible for:

• Reading and interpreting ship piping drawings with accuracy

• Fitting a variety of piping systems including carbon steel, CRES, and copper nickel

• Performing end prep using hand tools or Portsmouth machines

• Installing pipe hangers and ensuring proper alignment

• Measuring with precision using inches and tenths

• Preparing and fitting backing rings

• Cutting and shaping pipe using grinders and hand tools

• Hand-prepping V-bevels and performing detailed fit-ups

• Fabricating assemblies directly from technical drawings

• Bending pipe using templates and hand benders

• Fitting welded socket connections and brazed joints

✅ What You Bring

We’re looking for experienced professionals who can hit the ground running:

• 5+ years as a First Class Pipefitter

• (marine, nuclear, or petrochemical environment preferred)

• Strong ability to read and work from complex piping drawings

• Hands-on experience with multiple piping materials and systems

• Proven fabrication and fitting expertise

• Solid measurement and layout skills

• U.S. Citizenship required

This is a Contract position based out of Newport News, VA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $35.00/hr.
