This role ensures that claims intake and processing practices align with compliance requirements and support the institution’s overall risk management objectives.Essential Functions:Manage the Workers' Compensation Program. Receive, process and file Workers' Compensation claims with carrier. Coordinate Return to Work program. Main point of contact for workplace injuries, claims and investigation. Create, analyze and revise Workers' Compensation policies and guidelines.Manage the Auto Program. Receive and process auto claims and file with carrier or process internally as needed. Manage auto training compliance, oversee MVR checks and vendor. Reconcile Auto/golf cart/SCUV inventory. Create, analyze and revise Auto Program policies and guidelines. Manage and maintain data within the Risk Management Information System (Origami) and other institutional programs related to insurance, claims, property schedules and other data as needed. Manage Certificates of Insurance, Bond Programs and Inland Marine programs. Coordinate with internal stakeholders, external stakeholders and vendors as needed. Create, analyze and revise program policies and guidelines.Support insurance renewal activities, including data collection and updates for schedules of values and exposures. Compile loss runs and contribute to internal operational reports related to insurance, claims and loss control programs.Assist in verifying insurance compliance with university contract requirements. Maintain department webpages to support risk management programs. Participate in special projects and other duties as assigned.Position requires evening or weekend work to respond to emergency incidents outside of regular working hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed.QualificationsEducation and Experience:A Bachelor’s degree is required. A Master's degree is preferred. A minimum of three (3) years of work experience in workers' compensation, auto, property, and general liability claims management is required. Experience with insurance policy management and basic tracking of claims and finances is also required. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Candidate must demonstrate strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate broadly across the University and be able to work effectively with a wide range of people at varying levels of skill and authority. Must also demonstrate strong written communication skills. Strong presentation skills are essential.Candidate must possess strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and analyze problems and devise solutions. Candidate must also have strong organizational, planning, and time management skills. The ability to multitask, manage, and prioritize day-to-day tasks while utilizing strong project management skills is essential. Candidate must be able to identify and provide appropriate metrics and reports as needed, and maintain accurate, complete records that support compliance requirements. Candidate must a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including PowerPoint for presentations and training. Candidate must be able to provide informative and compelling presentations. Experience with a Risk Management Information System is required. The ability to learn policies and claims processes in a fast-paced environment is required. A positive attitude and a servant mindset are also required. A strong understanding of compliance is preferred.
